PGO5220 PEELABLE COATING

Pretreatment

Overview

A temporary white peelable coating for paint spray booth walls, ceilings, floors and other surfaces where paint overspray accumulation must be readily removed. Eliminating the need for scraping and solvent removal, this peelable coating peels off in sheets, resulting in lowered waste disposal costs. This can be used on steel surfaces to eliminate flash rusting, or as protection on glass, acrylic, rubber, cement, aluminum and many other hard surfaces.

Application

Ready to use as received. PGO5220 Peelable Coating can be applied by spray, roller or brush. Booth ventilation system should be operating while the coating is being applied.

Directions for use

Coating Application:
1. Apply 10-12 mils wet water-based peelable film to clean, dry surfaces (booth walls, fixtures). Application temperature is ambient to no lower than 60°F.

If using airless spray equipment, use .015 or .017 nozzle at a set pressure of 1200-1500 PSI. With conventional air spray, a Blinks nozzle #68PB, with needle #368, at a pressure of 35 55 PSI, is recommended.

2. The coating air-dries in 10 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the thickness of the coating, humidity, temperature and air movement. Improved air movement and temperatures up
to 130°F will cure this coating in as little as 10 minutes.

Coating Removal:
After significant paint overspray buildup, the film may be quickly and easily removed. Production time between cleaning is increased; quality control is improved with better illumination.
1. Cut film to start peeling from one corner of the spray booth.
2. Peel off in large, continuous sheets.
3. Once the film has been completely removed, the spray booth surfaces are ready for the next application of PGO5220 PEELABLE COATING.
