The tenth edition of the annual NOF METAL COATINGS EUROPE Conference organized by SIE was held in Turin on October 28,2011.
The tenth edition of the annual NOF METAL COATINGS EUROPE Conference organized by SIE was held in Turin on October 28, 2011. The agenda of the meeting included some general considerations and comments on the current economic situation and the vehicle production market in Europe, highlights of the research and development programmes of NOF METAL COATINGS EUROPE, and comments on the new ISO/DIS 10683 specification.
After the welcome address of Arturo Gazzola, President of SIE S.r.l. (the company which represents NOF METAL COATINGS EUROPE in Italy and Turkey), Jean-Marie Poulet (CEO of NOF METAL COATINGS EUROPE) informed the participants that Eric Ros had been appointed as Sales and Marketing Director for the European market and the other markets included in the NOF METAL COATINGS EUROPE responsibility areas, adding that Frédéric Gheno had been instead appointed as Technical and Quality Control Coordinator at NOF METAL COATINGS NORTH AMERICA.
Then, Eric Ros illustrated the characteristics of the new GEOBLACK® coating system and commented the achieved results. Subsequently, he illustrated GEOKOTE®, a black or transparent coating, the main characteristics of which consist in high corrosion resistance properties, high sliding resistance and limited surface damages depending on use. Additional information was also provided about the GEOMET® 321 KT and GEOMET® 500 KT systems, with GEOKOTE® topcoat. Then, Giancarlo Lunazzi commented the draft of the new ISO/DIS 10683 specification, pointing out the parts of the specifications currently in force to be revised. Finally, Isabelle Perche, Director of the Quality Service, presented an analysis of the positive results achieved from checks and inspections carried out on the applications of the NOF METAL COATINGS EUROPE licensees.
